Playing competitive basketball, soccer and track & field from a young age paved the way for Aly's strong interest in injuries and rehabilitation. Her passion for physiotherapy began at the age of thirteen, when she first visited a physiotherapist for a low back injury. She was immediately inspired after seeing what a difference one person can make in her performance, pain and overall wellbeing. Aly went on to complete her 4-year Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology (with honours). Soon after, Aly found herself working as a physiotherapy assistant while planning her big move overseas. She then escaped the cold Canadian weather to pursue her physiotherapy aspirations in Australia. Graduating from Griffith University (with honours), Aly has a special interest in exercise based therapy. She has a particular interest in low back pain, shoulder injuries and TMJ disorders. In her spare time, you'll find her at the beach with her dog, Chilli (making her Canadian friends jealous), exploring new hiking destinations in the hinterland, experimenting in the kitchen, or enjoying loads of popcorn while watching a movie.
In 2015, Karen decided to make the move to Queensland from Victoria in order to be closer to family and the beach. After previously working in all different fields of Admin for the past 25 years, Karen was seeking a career that tied a healthy lifestyle into her daily working routine, which is how she ended At ACE as our Reception Manager. She enjoys being outdoors, whether that's walking along the beach, watching the sunrise or bike riding, anything that contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
Caity joined the Ace Health team last year after graduating from Miami State High school. Her passion for health and fitness stems from years of representative sport. At the age of 14 years, Caity was selected for the Australian Futsal Team. In this time, Caity was on track to a successful soccer career, competing in the Women’s soccer National Premier League for 4 years. However, her time on the field was cut short when she tore ligaments in her ankle and was no longer able to walk, let alone run! Inspired by her own rehabilitation process, Caity was excited at the opportunity to work within a group of allied health professionals. Here at Ace Health Centre, you will find her manning the front desk and keeping both our clients and staff smiling.
