MOM & BUBS PILATES

  • This are classes for mums to regain strength, recover from pregnancy and postnatal aches and feel great again! Pilates provides an ideal postpartum workout. It is a safe exercise mode for new mums in varying stages of postnatal recovery. Mum’s and Bubs class is great for those that would like to get back into exercise and re build core strength after pregnancy. We focus on the working relationship of the abdominals, back and pelvic floor muscles to regain strength. Babies and children are welcome in our Mum’s and Bubs classes. Smaller infants who are not yet mobile are welcome to stay by Mum’s side on a bunny rug. Children who are mobile can either play in the playpen or be strapped safely into a pram.

  • Post Natal Classes also performed on the Gold Coast are a great fun way to exercise with your baby.  Our mums and bubs classes help to:

    • Regain pelvic floor muscle strength and bladder control
    • Strengthen and flatten your abdominal muscles
    • Tone your body
    • Raise your energy levels
    • Provide a base to move into higher intensity exercise without injury
    • Prevent low mood and postnatal depression

In the post natal period we recommend an assessment with one of our physiotherapists to assess your stomach muscles (on the Real Time Ultrasound machine) and check for any separation (Rectus Diastasis).

  • We offer a tailored Pilates program to suit the changing needs of your body during each trimester (Pregnancy Equipment Pilates) and into the postnatal recovery period (Mums & Bubs Pilates). In the post natal period we recommend an assessment with one of our physiotherapists to assess your stomach muscles (on the Real Time Ultrasound machine) and check for any separation (Rectus Diastasis). Presence of a Rectus Diastasis reduces the integrity and functional strength of the abdominal wall and can aggravate lower back pain and pelvic instability.

  • Call us to find out whether mum’s& bub’s pilates is covered by your private health care provider. There are a few things to consider with your private health fund such as your level of cover, your policy waiting periods, annual limits and fund rules. It is important to know what you are up for prior to your visits to avoid unwanted, expensive surprises.
