Your gait, decoded.
Pressure 3D foot scanning with microsensors that capture over a million data points per stride. We see exactly how you land, push off and load each joint — then build a treatment plan around the biomechanics, not the guesswork.
The way you walk decides where you hurt.
80% of Australians live with poor body alignment — pain in the knees, hips, lower back, shins or arches is often a downstream symptom of how your feet are landing with every step. A naked-eye assessment misses the millisecond timing, pressure distribution and rotational asymmetries that drive long-term wear.
Pressure 3D scanning makes the invisible visible. Over a million data points per scan, weight distribution mapped foot-by-foot, time-in-phase tracked per side, and a clear digital baseline we can compare against in three or six months to prove your rehab is working.
Five steps from scan to plan.
You walk across our pressure-sensitive 3D platform while microsensors map every contact point of each foot. Weight distribution, time-in-phase, peak pressure zones — all captured dynamically as you move.
The scanner records over a million data points per stride, tracking minor flaws in your biomechanics that the naked eye can’t catch. Issues that if left untreated develop into painful conditions over time.
Your podiatrist works through the data alongside you — clear visualisations of your gait cycle, side-to-side comparisons, and the biomechanical chain reactions that explain your symptoms.
Digital baseline saved. When you come back in three or six months we re-scan and overlay the data so we can prove the treatment plan is working — not just trust how you feel.
You walk out with a printed report you can read at home and share with your GP, physio or coach. Easy to understand, with the key biomechanical findings explained in plain English.
Built for people who can’t afford to guess.
Identify stride asymmetries, over-pronation, late push-off and force imbalances before they become injuries. Get a clear baseline and re-measure after rehab or training-load changes.
Hip, knee, lower back, plantar fasciitis, shin splints — often have a biomechanical root cause that hasn’t been mapped. Gait analysis turns symptom-chasing into targeted treatment.
If we’re going to design a custom 3D orthotic for you, we need to know exactly how your foot loads. Gait analysis is the foundation of every MotionX orthotic prescription at Ace.
Common gait-analysis questions.
Q01How long does a gait analysis take?
Allow 45-60 minutes for your first appointment. That covers the dynamic pressure scan, biomechanical assessment, sit-down review of your data, and printed report. Follow-up rescans are typically 30 minutes.
Q02How much does it cost?
Discussed transparently at booking — depends on whether it’s a stand-alone gait analysis or part of a podiatry initial consult. HICAPS on-the-spot rebates apply through your private-health extras, plus NDIS / DVA / WorkCover funding is accepted.
Q03Do I need a referral?
No referral needed for self-funded or private-extras patients. EPC (Medicare team-care arrangement), DVA referrals and NDIS plans are all welcome.
Q04What should I wear?
Shorts or activewear that lets us see your knees and hips. Bring your usual running shoes or work shoes — we can scan barefoot AND in your shoes to compare. Athletes: bring multiple pairs if you rotate them.
Q05Will this replace seeing a physio or specialist?
No — gait analysis is a diagnostic tool. The findings inform whether you need podiatry care, physiotherapy, custom orthotics or a combination. Because we have all three under one roof, the handoff is seamless.
