1064nm laser therapy · Gold Coast

Clear nails. Again.

Stubborn fungal nails finally have a treatment that actually works. Our medical-grade 1064nm Nd:YAG laser destroys the infection at the source — pain-free, no medications, no downtime, no nails to hide.

Understanding the problem

Onychomycosis. The infection that ignores creams.

Fungal nail infections aren’t cosmetic. They’re a stubborn organism living deep under your nail plate — beyond the reach of pharmacy creams (10-20% success) and only sometimes touched by oral antifungals (40-50% success, with real liver risks). They thicken, yellow, crumble, smell — and they spread.

1064nm Nd:YAG laser changes the maths. It penetrates the nail plate, heats the fungal cells to thermal death and leaves surrounding tissue untouched — clinical success rates of 60-91% with zero medication risk.

The honest comparison

Why patients switch to laser.

60-91%
Ace 1064nm laser

Direct thermal kill of the fungal organism. Minimal side effects. 3-6 month treatment window. The evidence-based clinical standard.

40-50%
Oral antifungals

Pill-based systemic treatment. Liver function risks requiring blood tests. 6-12 months on medication. Not suitable for many patients.

10-20%
Pharmacy creams

Topical treatments that struggle to penetrate the nail plate. Long timeframes (12+ months) with frequently disappointing results.

Real patient results

Before. After. Honestly.

Every case is different — but here’s what the 1064nm laser protocol actually achieves with Ace patients. No filters, no marketing tricks, just clinical photos.

Case 01

Thickened, yellowed big toenail. Clear regrowth after the standard 6-session course.

Case 02

Discoloured, crumbling nail plate. Clear pink nail growth after the standard 6-session course + aftercare.

Case 03

Brown discolouration + plate distortion. Clear regrowth at the 3-month review following the standard 6-session course.

Case 04

Bilateral fungal infection (both big toes). Both responded to the standard 6-session laser protocol.

Individual results vary. Treatment outcomes depend on infection severity, compliance with aftercare and prevention of re-infection.

Frequently asked

Common fungal-laser questions.

Q01Does the laser hurt?

No. Most patients feel a mild warming sensation during the 8-10 minute treatment per toe. No anaesthetic is required. You can walk out and resume your day immediately — no recovery, no painkillers, nothing to hide.

Q02How many sessions will I need?

Standard protocol is 6 sessions, one every 2 weeks (12 weeks total). At that point we conduct a 3-month review — depending on how the nail is responding we may add 2 further sessions. Full clear nail growth takes 6-12 months after treatment completes as the new healthy nail grows out from the nail bed.

Q03How effective is laser vs. medications?

Published studies show 1064nm Nd:YAG laser achieves 60-91% clinical clearance — better than oral antifungals (40-50%, with liver-function risks) and dramatically better than pharmacy creams (10-20%). Combined with our antifungal aftercare plan, real-world results are typically at the top of that range.

Q04Is there any aftercare?

Yes — and it matters. Our podiatrists give you a personalised prevention plan (Gold Coast humidity is a fungal paradise), nail-care advice, recommended antifungal sprays, and footwear/sock guidance. We re-review at 4 weeks to track clear nail growth.

Q05How much does it cost?

Discussed transparently at your initial consultation. HICAPS on-the-spot rebates apply for private-health extras, plus NDIS / DVA / WorkCover funding accepted. No medication costs unlike oral antifungals.

Q06Is it safe?

Yes. The 1064nm Nd:YAG laser is medical-grade and TGA-approved for nail-fungus treatment. It heats only the fungal organism — surrounding tissue and the nail matrix are unaffected. No systemic side effects, no liver risk, no drug interactions.
